Cozumel Dolphin Swim Excursion

Chankanaab National Marine Park in Cozumel is the perfect setting for a memorable dolphin experience. The Dolphin Swim Adventure is designed to create a fun and personal connection with one of the ocean's most fascinating animals in a safe and respectful environment.

Your experience begins with a short educational session led by a professional instructor, where you'll learn about dolphin anatomy, habits, and behaviors. From there, you'll enter the water and stand on a submerged platform for your interaction.

While on the platform, you'll have the opportunity to interact with one dolphin through a variety of close-up behaviors. These may include a kiss, a handshake, a hand target, and the dolphin's signature smile. These interactions take place in small groups to ensure a more personal experience.

After the platform portion, each family or party will enjoy a short free-swim period in the water. During this time, the dolphin may swim by, splash, or "sing," offering a playful and engaging moment for each group.

The experience lasts approximately one hour, with 30 minutes of in-water time. Group size is limited to 8 guests to allow for more individualized interaction.

A 10-minute manatee interaction is also included, giving you the chance to meet and learn about these gentle animals up close.

Professional photographers will be present to capture the highlights of your experience. Photos and videos will be available for purchase after the activity.

Please Note: As of July 16, Mexico has amended its General Wildlife Law, which places new restrictions on certain types of dolphin interactions. Beginning September 16, the Dolphin Swim Adventure at Chankanaab will follow an updated format. The program will include an educational briefing on dolphin anatomy and habits, including their senses of smell and taste, along with activities such as Dolphin Embrace (touch/hug), Dolphin Sight (vision), and Heart to Heart (soul). In the water, guests will enjoy group free-swim time as the dolphin circles around, splashes, and responds to different sounds. The program lasts approximately 50 minutes, with a maximum of 8 guests per platform and one dolphin. Admission to Chankanaab National Marine Park is included, along with a 10-minute manatee interaction, 10-minute sea lion show, pool access, buffet lunch, and open bar service.

The park is open from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM local time, and guests may arrive at any time. Your tour ticket includes admission to Chankanaab National Marine Park. Guests can arrive at any time and make use of the park facilities, which include a beach, swimming pool, and designated snorkel area. Restrooms and showers are available. Beach chairs, lockers, and snorkel gear can be rented on site.

Park admission is included with your dolphin tour. For any guests in your party who will not be participating in the dolphin activity, including children under 8 who are not eligible to take part, park entry can be purchased directly at check-in.

Daily shows and exhibits may include a sea lion show, a dolphin presentation, a manatee exhibit, and a self-guided archaeological tour. Show schedules vary, so be sure to check the listings when you arrive.
